Privacy Policy - FarSee

Privacy Policy for FarSee

FarSee (also listed as Progress Photo Tracker: FarSee) is developed and operated by Dharmeshkumar Pumbhadiya, India ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how FarSee accesses, processes, stores, and shares information when you use the FarSee mobile application.

For privacy questions or requests, contact us at wrongturnapps@gmail.com.

1. Summary

  • Your FarSee projects, project titles, captions, photos, videos, thumbnails, dates, reminder settings, and locally created exports are stored on your device. We do not operate a FarSee account system or cloud-media service.
  • Your photos, videos, audio, captions, and project content are not sent to us, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or RevenueCat by FarSee.
  • If you choose to export, back up, or share content, it is sent only to the destination or application you select. The recipient's privacy practices then apply.
  • FarSee uses Firebase Analytics for app analytics, Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting, and RevenueCat for in-app purchase and entitlement management. These services process limited information as described below.
  • FarSee does not currently display third-party advertisements, and we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.

2. Information processed on your device

FarSee may access or create the following information to provide its core features:

  • photos, videos, video audio, thumbnails, and exported media;
  • camera and microphone input when you choose to capture a photo or video;
  • project titles, optional captions, project and media dates, layout choices, and export settings;
  • notification and reminder preferences; and
  • local backup files that you choose to create or restore.

This content is processed locally and remains on your device unless you choose to export, back up, or share it. FarSee does not use facial recognition, biometric identification, or health-data analysis. A photo may depict health, fitness, a child, or other sensitive subject matter, but FarSee does not infer sensitive characteristics from it or transmit it to our service providers.

3. Device permissions

Depending on your device and the features you use, FarSee may request:

  • Camera: to capture progress photos and videos.
  • Microphone: to record audio when you capture a video.
  • Photos, videos, or storage: to import media and save exports or backups.
  • Notifications and alarms: to schedule reminders you request.

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. Some related features may then be unavailable. Reminder scheduling and media processing are performed on the device.

4. Information collected by third-party services

Firebase Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how FarSee is used and improve its reliability and features. Depending on consent and configuration, Firebase Analytics may collect app-instance identifiers, app interactions and events, session information, device and operating-system information, app version, language, and general location inferred from IP address.

We do not send users' photos, videos, audio, captions, project titles, names, email addresses, or other directly identifying content to Firebase Analytics. Where consent is legally required, Analytics collection will follow the user's consent choices. We configure user-level and event-level Analytics retention for no more than 14 months; standard aggregated reports may be retained longer by Google.

Firebase Crashlytics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes, application-not-responding events, and technical failures. Crashlytics may process crash stack traces, installation and session identifiers, timestamps, app version and bundle identifier, device model and architecture, operating-system information, available memory and disk information, and whether the device is rooted or jailbroken. Crash reports may include technical breadcrumb events immediately preceding a failure.

We do not intentionally include photos, videos, audio, captions, project titles, email addresses, or advertising identifiers in crash reports. Firebase states that Crashlytics crash traces and associated identifiers are retained for 90 days before removal begins.

RevenueCat and app-store billing

FarSee uses RevenueCat to offer and manage in-app purchases. RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play may process an anonymous or pseudonymous app-user identifier, product and purchase identifiers, transaction and purchase history, subscription or entitlement status, receipt information, app version, device/platform information, locale, currency, and technical request information such as IP address.

We use this information to present purchase options, validate transactions, prevent fraud, unlock paid features, provide purchase analytics, and restore purchases. FarSee currently uses an anonymous RevenueCat user identifier and does not provide RevenueCat with your name or email address. Apple or Google processes the payment; we and RevenueCat do not receive your complete payment-card details.

Support communications and Blogger

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you choose to provide. We use them to respond, troubleshoot, protect FarSee, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send sensitive photos or videos unless they are necessary for your support request.

This Privacy Policy may be hosted on Blogger, a Google service. Visiting the hosted policy page may cause Google to process browser, device, cookie, and network information under Google's Privacy Policy. This is separate from your use of the FarSee app.

5. How we use information

We and our service providers use information to:

  • provide FarSee's local media, reminder, export, backup, and paid features;

  • process and restore in-app purchases;

  • understand app usage and improve features;

  • diagnose crashes, maintain security, and prevent fraud or abuse;

  • respond to support and privacy requests; and

  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing is based on performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing FarSee, your consent for analytics or crash reporting where required, and compliance with law. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

6. When information is shared

Information may be disclosed to:

  • Google for Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play billing, and Blogger hosting;
  • RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement management;
  • Apple for App Store billing and platform services;
  • an application, cloud-storage provider, person, or other destination you select when you export, back up, or share content;
  • professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer.

We require service providers acting on our behalf to protect information consistently with their agreements and applicable law. Third parties may also process information under their own privacy policies.

7. Data retention and deletion

  • On-device content: remains until you delete the relevant item or project, clear the app's data, or uninstall FarSee. Files you export or back up remain wherever you placed them until you delete them there.
  • Firebase Analytics: user-level and event-level data is configured for no more than 14 months. Aggregated reports may remain longer.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: crash traces and associated identifiers are retained by Firebase for 90 days before removal begins.
  • Purchase information: is retained as needed to maintain entitlements, restore purchases, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with accounting or legal requirements. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat apply their own retention requirements.
  • Support messages: are retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and meet security or legal obligations.

Because FarSee has no account or FarSee cloud-media service, we normally cannot access or remotely delete content stored only on your device. Delete it within FarSee, remove exported copies from their destination, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. To request deletion of information that may be held through our service providers, email wrongturnapps@gmail.com. We may need an anonymous app or purchase identifier to locate the relevant record. Store transaction records controlled by Apple or Google may need to be handled through the applicable store.

8. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal information, withdraw consent, and appeal or complain to a data-protection authority.

You can also:

  • manage camera, microphone, media, notification, and tracking permissions in device settings;

  • delete locally stored content as explained above; and

  • email wrongturnapps@gmail.com to exercise an applicable privacy right.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. If a future FarSee version introduces advertising, we will update this policy and provide any legally required notices, consent controls, and opt-out choices before the relevant collection begins. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

9. International data transfers

We are based in India, and Google, RevenueCat, Apple, and their service providers may process information in India, the United States, and other countries. Privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, the relevant provider or we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.

10. Children's privacy

FarSee is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13. A parent or caregiver may use FarSee to record a child's progress, but that does not make the child an app user and FarSee does not upload that media to us. If you are under 13, do not use FarSee. If local law requires parental permission at a higher age, use FarSee only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact wrongturnapps@gmail.com so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

11. Security

We minimize data transmission by processing user media locally. Information sent to the third-party services described above is protected in transit using industry-standard encryption where supported by those services. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for securing your device and any location to which you export, back up, or share files.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when FarSee's features, service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice in the app when required. Continued use after an update takes effect is subject to the updated policy.
