Privacy Policy
Welcome to Nitya (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how Nitya handles your information when you use our mobile application (“App”) on Android or iOS.
By using Nitya, you agree to the terms described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
A. Data You Create
All personal data you create is stored locally on your device unless otherwise stated.
This includes:
Habits: Names, descriptions, icons, progress, and settings
Routines: Routine names, descriptions, and schedules
Journal Entries: Notes, moods, photos, tags, and timestamps
Reminders: Notification schedules and reminder times
Tags: Custom tags for habits or journals
App Settings and preferences
B. Photos and Media
You may optionally attach photos to journals.
Photos are stored locally and accessed only with your permission.
We do not upload or transmit your photos to any server.
C. Device Permissions
The App may request permissions such as:
Notifications – for reminders and alerts
Storage – to save and load local data
Camera and Photos – for adding journal images
Alarms – to schedule exact-time reminders
You can revoke any permission through your device settings.
2. Analytics and Firebase
To help improve performance and user experience, Nitya uses Google Analytics and Firebase. These services may collect limited, anonymized usage data such as App usage duration, Screen views, Crash reports, Device type and OS version. This data helps us fix bugs, measure engagement, and enhance features. We do not use analytics to collect your name, email address, or the full text of your journal entries, and we do not sell your data. We may log usage and product events in aggregated form to improve the app. Some events may include short, non-content labels you generate in the app (for example, a truncated title when you add a recommended routine) or coarse information (such as language or theme). Crash reports may include technical information (for example, device type, OS version, and stack traces) to help us fix bugs. Remote configuration may be used to deliver non-personal settings (such as which features to show) from Firebase; that does not include your journal or habit text.
Google Analytics (Firebase): app usage, screen views, and custom events, as described above.
Firebase Crashlytics: crash and error reports, as described above.
Firebase Remote Config: fetches app configuration and feature flags from Google; it does not receive your private journal, photos, or full habit data.

3. Device and advertising identifiers
On some devices, Google may process device or, where allowed by the platform, advertising-related identifiers as part of Google Analytics and Firebase services. We do not use this to show third-party ads inside Nitya. For details, see Google’s and Firebase’s policies linked above, and (on Android) your device and Google account settings for ads and analytics.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
Display, organize, and analyze your habits, routines, and journals
Send reminders and notifications
Improve app stability and usability through aggregated analytics
Support backup and restore functionality (if you choose)
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
5. Data Storage and Retention
All personal content (habits, journals, routines) is stored on your device. Analytics data is handled by Google services in aggregated form. If you uninstall the app, all local data is deleted from your device.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share your data with third parties except:
Google Analytics and Firebase (for app metrics)
Apple App Store or Google Play (for billing and subscription management)
You control any voluntary data exports (e.g., backups, PDF exports, sharing journals).
7. Data Security
Local data is stored in secure, app-specific directories. We encourage using your device’s passcode or biometric protection. Encrypted backups are supported for manual export/import.
8. Children’s Privacy
Nitya is suitable for general audiences aged 12 and up. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Parents can monitor use via device parental controls.
9. Your Rights
You can View, edit, and delete data within the app
Export backups for safekeeping
Revoke permissions or uninstall the app to erase data
10. International Use
All processing occurs locally or via Google’s compliant analytics systems. Any cross-border data (e.g., analytics) complies with GDPR and CCPA standards.
11. Premium Features
Nitya offers optional premium features through in-app purchases and subscriptions. All purchases are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
We use RevenueCat as a subscription management and analytics service to help manage entitlements, subscriptions, and purchase status across platforms. RevenueCat may process limited, non-personal purchase-related information (such as subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction events) in accordance with its privacy policy.
All payment processing and billing are governed by the policies of Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy for new features or legal reasons. We will notify users through in-app updates or release notes.
